Daegwallyeong Sheep Farm

Designated by the Ministry of Agriculture as a farm committed to animal welfare and forest conservation. The first barn went up in 1989 and sheep arrived in 1991; today it runs one of the most advanced sheep-rearing operations in the country.

There are two things to do here: walk the trail and feed the sheep. The path winds through wild plants, and the flock grazes on the pasture beside it.

One thing to know — the sheep are put out to pasture from mid-May to the end of October while the grass grows, and spend the winter indoors. Time your visit accordingly if you want to see them grazing.

A wooden shelter stands at the start of the trail, and from the summit at 920m, halfway round, the view over the Baekdudaegan range opens wide. It is high ground, cool and windy even in summer, so bring a light jacket whatever the season.
